Our Story

Brief History

Englebert school was originally established on 23rd day of September 1972 to provide an enriched version of the Ghanaian curriculum now the Standard Based Curriculum by National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) formerly Curriculum Research and Development Division (CRDD).
The initial vision of the school was to offer quality, independent and lifelong learning education to the wards of the Diplomatic Corp and other dignitaries within the Airport Residential enclave and beyond. Located just behind the Nyaho Medical Center on plot No: 5 Bortey Avenue, GPS 117-8555 Airport Residential Area Accra.

The school started with 24 pupils and 6 teachers including Ms. Florence Adu as the first Headmistress.

Today the school currently has on roll 283 pupils with an average class size of 20. 51.6% of our pupils are girls and 48.4% are boys. Our teacher to student ratio stands at 1:14 which compares very favourably with the Ghanian national average of 1:27(World Bank 2019) Over the years the school has seen a lot of infrastructural development which has ultimately positioned it to better remodel its vision and mission to embrace recent developments in the educational space, particularly in Ghana.

To provide a safe learning environment with a welcoming atmosphere which creates a sense of belonging among the family and to maintain an inclusive environment which acknowledges, respects and values children from diverse family and cultural backgrounds.
